Star Online Report

The Maldivian Supreme Court has created political instability in the country after the directive to release the prisoners, including the self-exiled former president Mohamed Nasheed, immediately following the release of prisoners. This order of the Supreme Court of Maldives has not been effective till now.

In response to the disobedience of the order, the court ordered the police and the army to protest against the order when the court ordered the arrest or arrest of President Abdullah Yameen. Maldivian Attorney General Mohammad Anil told journalists that police and army chief passed the order saying that the directive to arrest the president was contrary to the constitution. They will reject any such order.

In this situation, the judiciary and the government have been effectively facing the island of the Indian Ocean.
