Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ahsan Habib told the court that he would order the matter at 3:00 pm after the hearing. But at around 3:30 pm, the petition was returned to the plaintiff without any reason.
The plaintiff of the case AB Siddiqui said that on Nov 3, 2016, he filed the case with the court. On that day, the court directed the Tejgaon Police Station OC to investigate. After the investigation, Tejgaon Police Station OC (Investigation) ABM Mashiur Rahman filed a report against the former prime minister accusing him of defamation on February 25,
AB Siddiqui said, "After the report, the court issued a summons to Khaleda Zia to appear before the court on 22 March of that year. On Oct 12 that year, Khaleda Zia ordered the arrest of Gulshan Police Station after issuing a warrant against the former prime minister on October 12 that she did not appear before the court after the summon was issued. But the Gulshan Police Station did not implement this order.
AB Siddiqui further said, "The present accused Khaleda Zia has been jailed in the Zia orphanage trust case and therefore, we are requesting for a warrant for issuing arrest warrant for showing her arrest in this case by referring to the matter. But it was returned from the court without any reason. '
