Faridpur BNP procession in the rally; Journalist injured 30

At least 30 people, including journalists, were killed in a procession of BNP in Faridpur procession and blank shots. The incident took place in the Super Market area of Faridpur city around 11pm on Tuesday.

During this time, two journalists were injured in the torture of the police while performing their professional duties. An emergency meeting was held in Faridpur Press Club to protest the police attack on journalists.

The district BNP general secretary Syed Modarrekh Ali Isha, joint secretary Syed Zulfikar Hossain Jewel and other leaders fell to the ground when police led by SI Nasir, Harun, Abul and Constable Nahidul started abruptly. The procession was dispersed.

Later, the police fired at police brigade and fired 5/7 rounds of bullets on the police. During this time, while working as a professional, District Viishan's district representative Nirmalendu Chakraborty Shankar, district Delegate representative Harun Ansari Rudra were critically injured. Although Shankar took primary treatment, Harun Ansari was admitted to Faridpur General Hospital. He has a head and a hand injury.

At the time, police district unit General Secretary Md. Arere Ali Isha and joint secretary Zulfikar Hossain Jewel and Kotwali BNP president Rufus Nabi, along with at least 20 activists were detained.

In this incident, BNP leader Shama Obaid Islam Rinku, after the incident, promptly pressed the Faridpur Press Club and condemned the police attack.

Faridpur Acting Superintendent of Police Jamal Pasha, the fact that the arrest of the journalists by the fact of the incident and detention of BNP activists, is not unacceptable.

He said action will be taken against the police members involved in the attack on journalists and police will ensure that the incident does not happen in future.
