Intelligence Traffic System-ITC is going to be launched in Dhaka to reduce traffic congestion. Initially, the installationof machines has been started in Mohakhali, Gulshan, Paltan, and Fulbaria. Authorities say that the system will sit in more than one intersection and it will be useful.
Working of ITC in Mohakhali Inter Sections is in progress. The road has already started in Gulshan and Paltan.
The Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority says that these intersecting closed-circuit cameras and car detection devices will be implemented to implement ITC. However, city planners say that no technology will help if the control of the private car pressure on the road is not there.
The cost of the whole project is 45 crores, which will give Japan's development firm JICA. The project will be completed in December next year.
