After six years after the High Court's order to publish the list of language martyrs in six months, the government has not taken any initiative to make the list. Language activists have expressed anger over this. The petitioner said that he will soon file a contempt of court.
In view of Supreme Court lawyer Manzil Murshid's writ petition, on August 25, 2010, the High Court ordered the government to list language soldiers. Later, the committee formed by the Ministry of Culture published the Gazette, initially collecting 66 names. However, due to various complications, members of the committee stopped working to complete the list.
Last year, on January 19, last year, the High Court ordered to implement the directive. But there is no further progress in this regard.
It is believed that the court did not list the language soldiers till now.
Pakistanis who ignored the bloody eyes of the Pakistanis have established Bengal's right, but they did not have a complete list in 67 years. Even the names of most language fighters are lost in the disappearance.
