Rapid Action Battalion has arrested five members of Yaba trafficking and sale chain from Bashundhara residential area of the capital. Yaba tablets were seized between 1 million and 20 thousand pieces.
The arrestees are Sirajul Islam Rubel, Sumaiya Sultana Ria, Mafizul Islam, Md. Shaker and Jasim Uddin. They were arrested from a flat on the fifth floor of a G-block building in Bashundhara residential area on Sunday midnight.
RAB-1 captain Lieutenant Colonel Sarwar Bin Kashem said that on the basis of secret information, the five people were arrested on Sunday in a house of G-Block in Bashundhara residential area. Yaba tablets were recovered in a bag of 1.20 lakh pieces hidden in a bag.
The arrestees said in the interrogation that Rubel and Soula had rented the flat after identifying husband and wife. Rubel garment factories involved in the business. The business is involved in drug trade. Captain Sarwar said that efforts to arrest other members of the gang are continuing.
